Meet the coeditors of the new book Contemporary Women Playwrights: Into the Twenty-First Century (2013) as they highlight the diversity and power of female playwrights since 1990, including Wexner Center Artist Residency Award recipient Young Jean Lee. Farfan is Professor of Drama at the University of Calgary, Canada, and Ferris is Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor of Theatre at Ohio State.

The groundbreaking collection of essays explores such topics as the feminist history play, transcultural dramaturgies, the identity play, the gendered terrain of war, and eco-drama, and encompasses work from the US, Canada, Latin America, Oceania, South Africa, Egypt, and the UK. A book signing and reception follow the presentation.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Department of Theatre.
