Creating Reality: Exploring Digital Manipulation through Photoshop

wex grid image fill

Who are you and who do you want to be? This workshop challenges you to consider how our visual culture (especially advertising) frames our identity.

We'll also think about how students manipulate their own identities (and sometimes the identities of others) using images online. You will work with local artist Justin Luna to explore Six Solos, the Wexner Center's set of winter exhibitions and then investigate ways to alter and collage photographs using Photoshop on Mac laptops. You'll leave inspired to discuss issues of identity along with visual and media literacy with students. Pre-service and active educators of all disciplines are welcome. Prior experience with Photoshop is not required. To register, email edweb@wexarts.org or call (614) 292-6493.
