Past
In recent years, gesture has been recognized in the arts, humanities, and human sciences as a vital aspect of how we understand the embodiment of human thought and emotion. This conference, together with an exhibition at the Department of Art Hopkins Gallery, will bring together resident and visiting scholars with a variety of perspectives. The scholars will address gesture in relation to practices of inscription, signing, movement in theater, music, dance, and visual images, and other aspects of the arts, architecture, and digital representation. See a schedule and find more information at gestureosu.com. Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Colleges of Arts and Humanities, Department of Comparative Studies, and Department of Art Hopkins Gallery.
