King Khan Tweet&Greet
Hosted by the Wexner Center and the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism
Thu, May 14, 2009 7:30 PM
Come to a whole new tweeting of the minds, when the Wexner Center and Ohio State's Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism join social media forces for this Tweet&Greet in the Wexner Center Store. The event takes place immediately before tonight's King Khan and the Shrines concert (at 9 PM in the Black Box on Mershon Stage) and features free food and giveaways, with King Khan band members likely in attendance.

The Tweet&Greet is a variation on a "tweetup," or in-person gathering promoted primarily online via "tweets": messages on Twitter. In this case, we'll be spreading the word about the event especially with tweets but also using other new media avenues. To follow the Wexner Center or the Kiplinger Program on Twitter, go to or Those Twitter feeds will be sharing tidbits about the band leading up to the event and offering prizes (such as concert tickets, CDs, an iPod, and other items) exclusively to Twitter followers.

Currently, the Wexner Center and Kiplinger Program have more than 1500 combined followers on Twitter. The inspiration for the event stems from the increasing number of users who receive their information primarily by means of social media. Everyone is welcome to attend.
