Th»Çtre de lÌOeil, an internationally acclaimed puppetry group from Montreal, presents its original production The Star Keeper in a special performance just for school groups from kindergarten through grade five. Using rod, marionette, and shadow puppets, The Star Keeper tells a magical story of a star that falls from the sky and its journey back home under the care of a gentle creature named Pretzel. A wordless production, the story incorporates visual poetry, music, and fantasy. The Star Keeper was created in 1997 and has toured extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. It received three awards from LÌAcad»mie Qu»b»coise du Th»Çtre in 1999 and a 2001 Chalmers Canadian Play Award in Theatre for Young Audiences.

Teachers will receive a curriculum guide to prepare their students for the performance and suggest follow-up activities. A free adult ticket is provided with every 10 student tickets.
