Video Remix/Mashups Workshop for Teachers

Find out how--and why--video remixing is ideally suited for acquiring critical media analysis skills through artistic creation and production.

Teachers are asked to bring a teen partner to this workshop, in order to collaborate in the hands-on creation of a short remix. Mindy Faber, a Chicago digital artist and youth media educator, will facilitate an exchange of ideas that can actually be applied back in your own classrooms. She’ll also guide you in learning about the political, legal, and ethical dimensions of remix, including copyright law and fair use, essential knowledge for navigating our 21st-century web-based landscape.
