Writer’s Reading: Susanne Kippenberger

Join us for a talk by Susanne Kippenberger, sister of artist Martin Kippenberger and the author of the acclaimed book Kippenberger: The Artist and His Families.

Painter-provocateur Martin Kippenberger (1953–1997) was a major force in the international contemporary art scene, both as a creator and a commissioner of work by fellow artists like Jeff Koons and Mike Kelley. Susanne Kippenberger’s insightful biography is drawn from personal memories of her only brother, as well as extensive interviews with his extended family from the art world. A Berlin-based author and journalist, Susanne Kippenberger is visiting Ohio State to conduct research for a book about author and activist Jessica Mitford.
