Writer Mary Gaitskill, a finalist for the National Book Award, reads from her work. Veronica (2005), Gaitskill's most recent novel, was nominated for that honor and also listed as one of the "10 Best Books of 2005" by the New York Times.

Cosponsored by Ohio State's Creative Writing Program, Department of English. Gaitskill is also the author of two short story collections, Because They Wanted To (1997)--a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award--and Bad Behavior (1988), and a novel, Two Girls, Fat and Thin (1991). Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, Harper's Magazine, Esquire, The Best American Short Stories (1993), and The O. Henry Prize Stories (1998).
