• Did you hear? Ohio Humanities is working with the Wex on a new fellowship program for filmmakers creating Ohio-based, humanities-focused documentaries.
• The Greater Columbus Arts Council announced the recipients of a new grant program to help diversify the pool of artists engaging with existing grant opportunities. Artists include past Wex performer Krate Digga and Fariha Tayyab, who’s worked with our Learning & Public Practice team.

• Sunday, ROY G BIV hosts a spoken word event with The Sparrow’s Fortune.
• Monday, the Drexel hosts a screening of the underappreciated, 2009 Coen brothers film A Serious Man.
• Urban Arts Space is currently accepting exhibition proposals.
• Ohio State Libraries are on the lookout for a new exhibitions preparator.
• Locally-based art power couple Dani and Sheilah ReStack were interviewed by BOMB Magazine.

• The National Endowment for the Arts announced its first round of grants for 2023, and we’re thrilled to share that the Wex has received NEA funding for projects including our upcoming presentation of Ontroerend Goed’s Are we not drawn onward toward new erA.
• The National Endowment for the Humanities also issued over $28 million in grants this week.
• And The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts bestowed over $4 million in grants to orgs including Visual AIDS and Cleveland’s SPACES.
• Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans and Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin were the big winners at this week’s Golden Globes.
• The SAG Awards announced nominees—also that this year’s ceremony has a new broadcast host: Netflix.
• Tár and Aftersun were among the films singled out by the National Society of Film Critics.
• The award-winning documentary feature I Didn’t See You There, which we presented through our partnership with Art Possible Ohio, is available to stream for free until February 9.
