Ed Wood

Ed Wood
Welcome Week Film Tim Burton, 1994
Tue, Sep 22, 2009 8:30 PM

This contemporary classic is screened outdoors, Wex Drive-In style, as part of our festivities during Ohio State's Welcome Week.

New and returning students are especially invited to attend--and can pick up a free T-shirt (while quantities last) at the Student Party that starts at 7 PM. But all film fans are welcome to come by and enjoy the movie, which starts at dusk (around 8-8:30 PM).

Hailed by many as the worst director ever, and celebrated posthumously for his cinematic ineptitude, Ed Wood still gets an "A" for effort with such classic clunkers as Plan 9 from Outer Space and Glen or Glenda. Tim Burton's affectionate portrait stars Johnny Depp as the quixotic director and covers Wood's golden years, when he provided screen icon Bela Lugosi with his final roles. Also with Martin Landau, Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Patricia Arquette. (127 mins., 35mm)

In the even of rain, the film will screen in Mershon Auditorium at 8:30 PM.
