Backpacks, regardless of size, must be placed at coat check before entering the galleries. All other bags (including purses and diaper bags) will be inspected before being allowed into the galleries. Those exceeding 11 x 15 x 5 inches (28 x 38 x 13 cm) in size must be placed in coat check. The Wexner Center for the Arts is not responsible for lost or stolen items; we recommend keeping anything on the list below at home or in your vehicle.
Patrons are encouraged to check their coats in the complimentary, self-service coat check. If guests elect to keep their coats, center security personnel may ask guests to open the coat or undergo a pat down before being admitted to the galleries.
It is recommended that you travel lightly to increase the speed and ease with which you may enter the galleries.
The following items are not permitted in the galleries:
Note: Pens, cosmetics, travel sized toiletries, and items of a similar nature found inside a purse or diaper bag will not be confiscated or sent to coat check; however, these items may not be removed from the bag while in the galleries.
The Wexner Center invites visitors to its exhibition spaces to take still photographs without a flash for personal, noncommercial use, except where restrictions are indicated. Include #theWex with your photos, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @wexarts. The complete photo policy is available at the gallery entrance.
Visitors are permitted to use these devices in the galleries, providing they respect the viewing experience of fellow patrons and remain aware of their surroundings. Wexner Center iPads are available in the galleries for visitors to access augmented reality information for select exhibitions.
Patrons may use small strollers inside the galleries. However, for the safety of both visitors and the artwork on display, double and oversized strollers are not permitted. Patrons may borrow a stroller during their visit on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are no size restrictions on wheelchairs. A limited number of wheelchairs are available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis at coat check. Patrons may also reserve a wheelchair in advance of their visit.
Use of pens is not permitted in the galleries. Patrons interested in taking notes may use a pencil. Sketching in the galleries is permitted on sketchbooks smaller than 12 inches by 18 inches, so long as patron circulation is not inhibited by those using sketchpads.
We will strictly enforce the prohibition of food, drink, and gum inside our galleries and theatres.
The Wexner Center for the Arts and its employees reserve the right to determine which items may be brought into the building and galleries, including, but not limited to, items listed above.
