Many classic films are just as powerful today as when they were first released. We add such films from many genres to our schedule throughout the season. Many are shown on the occasion of their rereleases, in fresh, new or restored prints.

Hear Peter Bogdanovich’s own thoughts on one of his breakthrough films, What’s Up, Doc? According to film historian David Thomson, “he remains one of the best directors in America” (The New Biographical Dictionary of Film).

Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal star in the box-office sensation, a hilarious update of the screwball comedies of the 1930s as perfected by Howard Hawks. The film also features Madeline Kahn and a screenplay by Buck Henry. (94 mins., 35mm)
