(2012)

“Anyone familiar or unfamiliar with Fuller will be lucky to experience his life’s work through the enthralling interpretation by Green and Yo La Tengo.”—Filmmaker Magazine

A follow-up Utopia in Four Movements ( a previous "live documentary" project presented here in 2010), Love Song examines Fuller’s remarkable life as a visionary architect, designer, and social critic, most famous for his creation of the geodesic dome. Green draws heavily from the Fuller archive at Stanford, an astonishing collection of notes, letters, blueprints, photographs, films, and ephemera that contains a wonderful record of the utopian thinker and creator’s massive body of work. Joining Green on stage is the legendary alternative rock band Yo La Tengo (Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley, and James McNew) who provide live musical accompaniment to the film and Green’s live narration. This is a wondrous night of film and music you won’t want to miss! (digital presentation, 60 mins).

This event is cosponsored by the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture.
