"Both alien and utterly familiarÖa contained yet electrified stage universe."—The Times (London)

See a powerful new work for five dancers from Amsterdam-based dancer/choreographer Emio Greco and his dramaturgical partner, Pieter C. Scholten.

$5 tickets for teens (ages 13-18) are available through High 5 Tickets to the Arts. Click here for details. Amsterdam-based dancer/choreographer Emio Greco enthralled Columbus audiences with his intensely expressionistic work when we presented his duet Extra Dry as part of his first U.S. tour in 2001. This time, Greco and his dramaturgical partner, Pieter C. Scholten, have created a bold new work for five dancers that's just as powerful, emotionally and physically.

The title, Rimasto Orfano, literally means "abandoned orphan." And this piece explores the image of alienation that phrase suggests with extremes in brightness and darkness, stark stillness and writhing, ecstatic action. Set against a minimalist metallic cliff, the sweeping energy of Rimasto Orfano conjures a pulsing primal force of nature and captivates you with sharp choreographic intelligence. As The Herald in Edinburgh put it, "'technique' doesn't explain the fierce majesty of what he achieves. On all levels...this is exceptional artistry."

Sponsor, Fellow, and Donor Circles members are entitled to two free tickets to Emio Greco/PC as a benefit of their membership (subject to availability).
