Genwex Hosts Trivia Night and Mixtape Exchange

GenWex, the Wexner Center’s new young patrons group, will be hosting its first Trivia Night and Mixtape Exchange on Wednesday, March 12 from 6 to 9 pm in the Center’s Performance Space. With a plethora of pop culture questions, great prizes, and a mixtape exchange, this event is the perfect opportunity for pop culture junkies to show their stuff. A cash bar and food will also be available at this free event.

Master of ceremonies Tim Fulton (of local non-profit Team Tim) will host this trivia competition focusing on all areas of pop culture (think pink in terms of Trivial Pursuit). Teams will compete for prizes, and most importantly, Trivia Night bragging rights. Guests can also bring in a mixtape or mix CD to enter into a mixtape exchange. The rules for the voluntary exchange are simple: each participant who brings a mix will be able to snag a mix from another participant. However, those who do not bring a mix are not eligible for the exchange.

ABOUT GENWEX

Loosely structured and developed by a cross-departmental group at the Wexner Center, GenWex hopes to present robust, challenging, provocative, and diverse offerings to those who participate. With plans in the works for event-specific “warm-up” parties (in the mold of the Center’s recent parties before the Wilco and Feist concerts), debates, lectures, specialized building and gallery tours, and more, GenWex is latest initiative to foster greater involvement among the people of Columbus and the Wexner Center at The Ohio State University. The next GenWex event is April 4 and is Circuit Bending workshop with Minnesota-based duo Beatrix* Jar. In May, GenWex hosts Reel Politics, which features a screening of the classic film Network, along with a reception and remarks by two area politicos (TBA).
