Farfalle (Butterflies) Compagnia T.P.O. (Italy) Public Performances
Compagnia T.P.O. (Italy)
Give the young ones in your life a rare opportunity to enter a spellbinding world of digital wonder.
Beautiful botanical images and captivating rainforest sounds emerge from every direction when a simple stage morphs into a magical set that responds—in real time—to the graceful movements of two dancers. Even bigger thrills come when young ones from the audience are invited to touch and explore the glowing interactive garden themselves. The evolution from caterpillar to butterfly has never been so brilliantly staged.
Come early to join in some fun creative activities before all five performances. You can also explore the Wex's fascinating building on speedy (15-minute) architecture tours specially designed for kids after each show.
You can find out more about the show and company at a Q & A after Saturday’s 11 AM show. In addition, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will be giving out ice cream sandwiches outside after Saturday’s 2 PM show and after Sunday’s 12:30 PM show.
Whichever performance you attend, this show is perfect for children as young as four but will also appeal to older kids and adults, especially those with interests in nature, ecology, or innovative artforms. It’s perfect for a family or neighborhood outing or for youth organizations—and group discounts are available (call the ticket office at 292-3535 for group tickets).
T.P.O. (Teatro di Piazza o d'Occasione), a distinguished international "visual theater company," delighted public and school audiences with The Japanese Garden and its magical "Children Cheering Carpet" at the Wexner Center in May 2008. Farfalle employs similar technology to create its interactive garden—so prepare your family for an amazing experience.
