Editor's note: The following blog entry is the first in a series of posts regarding the production of Jennifer Reeder's film,
Accidents at Home and How They Happen.
It's after midnight and I'm just getting back from looking at dailies for Jennifer Reeder's feature,
Accidents at Home and How They Happen
, which I am shooting and editing as part of Jennifer's media arts residency award project at the Wexner Center. Jennifer is one of the most down to earth, funny, and professional people I have ever worked with. I've known her for almost 7 years, and I edited her video

back in 2003. I couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity to work with her again.
Everything went well during out first day of shooting especially considering that it was the first day that the crew worked together, the actors in the scene met for the first time last night, and there was a scene involving a [prop] bird flying into a window. We're shooting
Accidents
with a CineAlta high definition (and very high end) camera, and because of this the close-up shots we recorded tonight were breathtaking. When the camera is up close it records amazing details, like the pores on an actor's face covered in clown make-up.
To whet your appetite for what the film is about, I'll leave you with this still of Jennifer directing the scene we shot tonight: the morning after a costume party. It's late and I need to get to sleep—we shoot the costume party and another scene tomorrow. Look for more updates about the production as we continue to shoot throughout the month.
