Advancing the role of the arts in sparking meaningful discussion of contemporary issues, this year’s Director’s Dialogue centers on Pens to Pictures, a pioneering project that teaches incarcerated women the art of filmmaking.

Hear from filmmaker Chinonye Chukwu, the program’s creator; staff from Dayton Correctional Institution; and some of the participating Pens to Pictures directors in an intimate and informal conversation.

Featuring the premiere of the Pens to Pictures Documentary | 7 PM

Following the premiere of the Pens to Pictures documentary, Chukwu, Ohio State professors Townsand Price-Spratlen and Audrey Begun, and activist Tammy Fournier-Alsaada will discuss a range of issues facing incarcerated women today.
