First Sundays: Winter/Spring 2012

Admission to the galleries is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month. On February 5, March 4, and April 1, you can see three stunning exhibitions. Sunday, March 4 is also Super Sunday: Block Party with special activities for all ages.

David Smith: Cubes and Anarchy takes a fresh look at the famed sculptor’s work, focusing on his interest in geometry. The exhibition features a number of previously unexhibited works on paper.

In her film Points on a Line, Sarah Morris takes viewers to modernist landmarks by Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe while investigating the connections and power structures that shape the built environment.

Ernst Caramelle's site-specific installation transforms the Wexner Center’s lower lobby into a three-dimensional painting.

David Smith: Cubes and Anarchy was organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and made possible by Alice and Nahum Lainer, the National Endowment for the Arts, Gagosian Gallery, and the Steven F. Roth Family Foundation. Additional support was provided by the Steaven K. and Judith G. Jones Foundation, Myron Laskin, Agnes Gund, Dorothy R.
