The Depression-era, pre–Production Code musical 42nd Street stars Columbus native Warner Baxter (b. 1889) as a Broadway director who lost his savings in the stock market crash and must now deliver a hit to have enough money to retire.

The film is filled with risqué humor and a generous helping of musical numbers choreographed by the great Busby Berkeley. Also with Ruby Keeler, Dick Powell, and Ginger Rogers. (89 mins., 35mm)
