A wonderful example of the exciting cinema coming out of the Argentine New Wave, Ana and the Others is a beautiful, nuanced, and precise character study. Screening first is Uyuni, a poetic he-said/she-said rumination on a Bolivian city made by Argentine video artist Andres Denegri while working in the Wexner Center's Art and Technology program. (8 min.) In Ana and the Others, 25-year-old Ana returns to her small, provincial hometown for the first time in years since moving away to Buenos Aires. While wandering through the streets of her past, Ana encounters old friends who have settled into their lives and she begins to assess the world around her and her place in it. (80 mins.)
