A delicate story of companionship, The Butterfly follows 8-year-old Elsaís quest for paternal guidance and adventures in the mountains of France. An Ohio premiere! Left alone by her single mother for several days, Elsa stows away with her grandfatherly neighbor, Julien (Michel Serrault), who is off to the mountains in search of a rare butterfly. Julien unwittingly finds himself in the role of teacher and protector as he explores the natural and human worlds with his young protÈgÈe. (France, 85 mins.)
