We’re thrilled to once again help our friends at Cinevent kick off their weekend celebrating classic cinema, this year with a pair of British favorites set during World War II. The 1951 comedy Hotel Sahara stars Yvonne De Carlo and Peter Ustinov as owners of a desert hotel who must calibrate their allegiances—including their dress and musical numbers—to whichever army is in control of their town at the time. (96 mins., DCP) In Albert R.N., British inmates in a German POW camp plot another escape attempt, this time hoping to deceive both guards and turncoats with a lifelike dummy they dub “Albert.” Based on a true story. (88 mins., DCP)

Cinevent 48 takes place downtown June 2–5; visit cinevent.com for more information.
