Produced by Ohio State students, Columbus in Focus examines the history of film production at the university and in the city, from the heyday of OSU’s Department of Photography and Cinema as one of the strongest programs in the country, through the department’s disbanding, and up to the present, when filmmaking is enjoying a campus resurgence through endeavors like Reel Buckeye Productions, a student-organized production effort inspired in part by HBO's Project Greenlight.

The film was originally intended to be a “behind-the-scenes” documentary chronicling the production of 3 Easy Payments, Reel Buckeye’s first film project, in 2006. It expanded to explore not only filmmaking at OSU but the state of Columbus’s filmmaking scene and the new possibilities presented by digital video and the Internet. (75 mins., video)
