Animator Brent Green comes to the center to introduce his first feature-length film. In Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then, Green recreates the true story of Leonard Wood, a Kentucky man who builds a crazy-quilt home, room by room, praying it will lead God to cure his wife, Mary, of terminal cancer. Shot entirely on the full-scale town he built in his backyard, the film combines traditional and stop-motion animation techniques in an ethereal homage to lovers and optimistic tinkerers everywhere. Green's films have screened at the Sundance Film Festival, the Getty Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Warhol Museum, along with many other festivals and venues. His films accompanied the Califone performance at the Wexner Center in 2006. Donna K., who plays Mary, will also be on-hand to discuss the film. (75 mins, video).
