A renowned and eccentric "cinephiliac," Maddin offers a glimpse behind the curtain of his taste as he introduces this personally selected double bill we've dubbed "The Mind of Maddin."

Maddin calls Ali Baba star Maria Montez "the woman that made Jack Smith possible." Here the "Queen of Technicolor" and camp icon plays the candy-colored love interest of Ali Baba, legendary leader of a band of 40 thieves who seek to liberate Bagdad from the occupying Mongol hordes. (87 mins., 35mm)

Forty Guns, Sam Fuller's widescreen western/noir/melodrama mash-up, stars Barbara Stanwyck as an Arizona cattle queen who rules the territory with a whip and her hired stable of "40 guns." (79 mins., 35mm) Forty Guns begins at 2:45 PM.

Parking Note: Several campus garages, including the Ohio Union South Garage, will be closed for maintenance on Sunday. But don't worry, ample parking should be available in the Ohio Union North Garage, which is even closer to the Wexner Center, as well as in Arps Garage. Both the Ohio Union North Garage and Arps Garage are open to public parking on weekends.
