The Lost Cinema

This documentary by filmmaker and film scholar Jamsheed Akrami examines Iran's prerevolutionary cinema and the fact that these films are banned in contemporary Iran. Akrami introduces the screening. The Lost Cinema is an updated version of Akrami's 1985 film Dreams Betrayed. (100 mins.)

A filmmaker, critic, and professor in the Department of Communication at William Patterson University in New Jersey, Akrami is a distinguished commentator on Iranian cinema and a frequent visitor to the Wexner Center.
