Organized into 15 "precise chapters," Masculine-Feminine tells the story of two young lovers in mid-60s' Paris: Paul (New Wave icon Jean-Pierre LÈaud), an idealistic Communist, and Madeleine (pop star Chantal Goya), an aspiring singer. While he ponders his generation's place in the world, she strives for a Top 40 hit, leading their relationship into ever more tortured directions. (103 mins.)
