Night Train to Terror

Jay Schlossberg-Cohen, 1985

Night Train to Terror demolishes that fine line between awful and awesome.

Haphazardly salvaged footage from several unreleasable horror films provides Night Train's separate stories, which are loosely linked by a framing device that involves God and the Devil playing chess on a train and arguing about the fate of the characters. Oh, and there are also completely random musical numbers by a rock band that looks like it walked off the set of Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" video. And that's not even mentioning the appearances by giant claymation tarantula demons and Night Court's Richard Moll. You never know what this movie will throw at you next. Showing in a rare, archival 35mm print imported from New Zealand! (98 mins., 35mm)
