Ruth Glynn, a senior lecturer in Italian at the University of Bristol in England, presents this lecture, which looks at representations of gender, terrorism, and trauma in Italian films.

Among the films she'll discuss are Marco Bellocchio’s Good Morning, Night (2003) and Giuseppe Bertolucci’s Secrets Secrets (1985). Glynn’s presentation is subtitled "Trauma and the ‘Leaden Years,’” and the term “leaden years” refers to a period of intense terrorism across the political spectrum in Italy from 1968 to 1980.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Department of French & Italian.
