Now in its ninth year, the Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase brings together an impressive array of independently produced work from all corners of the Buckeye State. Films from the new Youth Division Showcase, for filmmakers 18 and younger, screen in the afternoon. Each under 20 minutes long and produced in Ohio in the past 18 months, the works screened at each Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase vary in genre, tone, and production value, but all reflect the active media culture of the region. The event offers a welcome opportunity for filmmakers to show--and for audiences to see—such works under professional conditions. New this year is a Youth Division program for filmmakers 18 years old and younger. Click here for more information. The Youth Division event begins at 4 pm and is ticketed separately. There is a free public reception between programs, from 5 to 7 pm. The Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase was organized by the Wexner Center's David Filipi and Jennifer Lange, media arts associate curators, and Chris Stults, media arts curatorial assistant, with Tim Lanza, curator of the Rohauer Collection, and Melissa Starker, Alive's arts editor.
