Iranian director Jafar Panahi (@jafar.panahi) has been under house arrest and banned from filmmaking since 2010, but that hasn't stopped him from making three movies in the years since, including his latest, TAXI, filmed within the confines of a cab with Pahahi at the helm. The movie sees the legendary director driving the streets of Tehran, picking passengers who candidly express their opinions and worldviews to a camera placed on the dashboard of his “mobile film studio.” Despite the humble setup, Panahi captures the spirit of Iranian society through this comedic, dramatic, and subversive road movie, winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Catch TAXI tonight (Thu) and tomorrow at 7 PM at #theWex. More at wexarts.org/fv #filmliveshere #jafarpanahi
