Highly focused on being loose-knit, the collective known as Akron/Family take the road less traveled in more ways than one. They left their rural roots (none of the four guys hails from Akron, by the way) to make a go of it in Brooklyn’s netherworld, where their notions of magical, ecstatic folk-skronk quickly found an appreciative home. Embraced by the leftfield crew at Young God Records for their fractal lo-fi sonic epics, Akron/Family are soon to issue their latest CD, Love us Simple. Fellow travelers on this tour include Greg Davis, who performs a solo set, and the trio Megafaun, who will all be adopted into Akron/Family for their extended set.
