Prieto was first heard setting the tempo for Latin and jazz artists including Eddie Palmieri, Michel Camilo, and Steve Coleman. Now he's establishing himself as a formidable leader garnering raves from far and wide. His Absolute Quintet assembles an unusual lineup--drums, keyboards, saxophone, violin, and cello--that plays some of the freshest, funkiest music you can imagine.
