Berlin-based vanguard electronica label Morr Music brings three artists--Lali Puna, Opiate, and Styrofoam--for their inaugural tour of North America. Thomas Knak, a.k.a. Opiate, is one of the most acclaimed electronic artists and DJs to emerge from Denmark. He's known both for his contributions to Bjork's Vespertine and the innovative ambient, electronica, and drum and bass sounds he spins internationally. Belgium's Arne van Petegem, the man behind Styrofoam, summons shimmering down-tempo melodies that construct warmly enveloping fields of cinematic sound. Munich's Lali Puna, a.k.a. Valerie Trebeljahr, has charmed fans of Aphex Twin and Stereolab with her four-piece band's sophisticated atmospheric avant-pop, which layers keyboards, samplers, and laptops with hypnotic lyrics sung in English and Portuguese.
Additional season support provided by the Ohio Arts Council and the Corporate Annual Fund of the Wexner Center Foundation.
