"Retaining everything that's good about Times New Viking: the absurdly addictive hooks, the kiss-off attitude, the quarter-life malaise, the clever humor."–The Other Paper on Dancer Equired Times New Viking hit our stage with a set of new songs drawn from Dancer Equired, their recently released album on Merge Records, their new label. Taped in Columbus's shrine-to-analog studio Musicol, Dancer Equired finds TNV going for a brighter and slightly cleaner approach to their raw and gritty, but supremely catchy, blasts of pop-punk. Trading vocals, keyboardist Beth Murphy and drummer Adam Elliot address the alternating tides of emotion that come with romance in their lyrics while guitarist Jared Phillips cranks up the driving riffs that propel TNV's sound. We strongly advise getting your tickets early for this show with a trio of hometown faves who always pack the house with local fans eager to hear their latest. Columbus groups Psandwich (featuring members from Brainbow and Great Plains) and Mike Rep and Tommy Jay, a lo-fi folk duo, open.
