State Fare: Three Ohio Artists to Feature Work Selected by Blind Jury of Museum Professionals from Across The Country
The Wexner Center is now accepting entries for State Fare: Three Ohio Artists, an exhibition of work selected by a blind jury of distinguished museum professionals from across the country. State Fare is open to any Ohio artist, 18 or older, working in any medium. Eligible artists must be residents of Ohio at the time of application and at the time of the exhibition. Applications will be accepted through November 15; applications and details on submitting work are available at www.wexarts.org/statefare.
The jury will announce the selected artists in February. The exhibition will be on view May 12–August 26, 2007 at the Wexner Center. Notes Helen Molesworth, the Wexner Center’s chief curator of exhibitions, “This exhibition allows the Wexner Center to support artists in Ohio, while giving three emerging artists from our own backyard the opportunity to exhibit their work in an internationally known institution.”
This is the first exhibition of its kind at the Wexner Center.
The national jury includes Elizabeth N. Armstrong, deputy director for programs and chief curator at the Orange County Museum of Art; Elizabeth Smith, the James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chicago; and Hamza Walker, director of education at the Renaissance Society, University of Chicago.
