Curator, author, and philanthropist Toby Devan Lewis will visit the Wexner Center Saturday, February 2 from 5 to 6 pm for a booksigning of ArtWorks: The Progressive Collection (D.A.P./ The Progressive Collection; 292 pages), an impressive new volume that features a cross-section of the more than 6,000 works in the Progressive Corporation’s Cleveland-based art collection she helped assemble.
Lewis selected Kerry James Marshall’s work for that collection, and her visit coincides with his Every Beat of My Heart exhibition and performances at the Wexner Center. Other artists represented in the book include Vito Acconci, Tina Barney, Gregory Crewdson, Frank Gehry, Nan Goldin, Andy Goldsworthy, David Hockney, Sherrie Levine, Takashi Murakami, Cindy Sherman, Richard Tuttle, and Andy Warhol, among many others.
In ArtWorks, Lewis brings an insiders’ perspective to the story of the Progressive collection’s development. Contributing authors include Dan Cameron, Nobel Prize-winner Toni Morrison, and Peter B. Lewis, the collection's founder.
The book is available for $50.00 in the Wexner Center Store.
