Give students a glimpse of climate change in the arctic in this program with artist and film producer David Buckland.

Buckland has been organizing excursions of artists and writers to the north Arctic since 2001. These firsthand experiences with the evidence of global climate change have inspired works of art, dance, theater, and writing that dramatically expand international awareness of the dire environmental threats that face the planet. Art from a Changing Arctic documents one of these excursions and gives viewers a glimpse of the artists’ reactions to this harsh environment. The film features writer Ian McEwan, artists Anthony Gormley and Rachel Whiteread, and others. (60 mins.)

Students will first watch the film and then engage in a discussion led by Buckland.

Teachers, register your class by e-mailing edweb@wexarts.org or calling (614) 292-6493.
