Artist’s Talk: Omer Fast

wex grid image fill

Don’t miss this chance to hear from an artist described by the New York Times as “amazingly good, and getting better.” The galleries open at 4 PM so that you can preview the exhibitions before the talk.

Fast, an intriguing artist who was born in Jerusalem and now lives in Berlin, talks about his work on view in Omer Fast: 2001/11. The exhibition juxtaposes two video installations made 10 years apart. 5000 Feet Is the Best (a sensation at the 2011 Venice Biennale) and CNN Concatenated prompt thoughts about storytelling, authenticity, and authorship, as well as about the fast pace at which real experiences become part of history. Fast blurs boundaries between fact and fiction, authority and audience, creating compelling videos that cause viewers to reexamine their own beliefs and preconceptions.
