Sculptor Orly Genger discusses her process and recent work in this afternoon's talk. Genger has won critical acclaim for her large-scale installations in which thick rope is painted and woven into mats and rolls that dramatically fill (and sometimes flow out of) both indoor and outdoor spaces. Her work has recently been seen at MASS MoCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and on the cover of Sculpture magazine. Genger is based in New York, has a B.A. from Brown University, and studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Cosponsored by Ohio State's Graduate Student Art Club and the Department of Art.
