CÈsar Trasobares

Tonight Trasobares shows and talks about his drawings, sculptures, and installations and shares anecdotes about his experiences with artists and public art in various communities. CÈsar Trasobares broadly defines his practice as an artist. He has served as an activist, curator, and performer; he produces work in various media; he has been involved in education and art administration in a variety of positions, including as director of Metro-Dade's Art in Public Places Program (1985ñ90) in Miami. Tonight Trasobares shows and talks about his drawings, sculptures, and installations and shares anecdotes about his experiences with artists and public art in various communities.

Trasobares has received fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (1979), the Cintas Foundation (1980), and Art Matters (1995). He has worked as director of Metro-Dade's Art in Public Places Program, 1985ñ1990; New York Coordinator of the Estate Project, 1997ñ99; and consulting artist for Artful Truth at the Wolfsonian-FIU Museum, 1999-2001, among other activities. He has participated in numerous artist selection panels, as well as conferences and curatorial projects. During the past three decades, he has maintained an active studio, and his work has been included in varied art exhibitions.
