Digital Video Editing with Final Cut Express for Mac with Ryan Schlagbaum

Editing can be an almost invisible aspect of films and videos, but it’s also an essential skill and an incredibly versatile tool for expression and communication. Join videographer and filmmaker Ryan Schlagbaum and spend all week learning how to edit (no shooting). You’ll be given a ready-made script and identical raw footage to shape into a unique project through editing. We’ll begin the week with a discussion of film editing, illustrated with clips of different styles of editing, and conclude with a screening of each video produced in class. This class is limited to 14 students.

Registration fees are just $95 per student, per workshop for the general public. Wexner Center members save: members' registration is just $75 per student, per workshop.

Locations and Equipment
All classes will be held at the top floor of Sullivant Hall [link to OSU web page: http://www.osu.edu/map/building.php?building=106] or elsewhere on the Ohio State campus. Registrants will receive confirmations, final class information, and directions to drop-off point(s) for each workshop via email.

In our computer classes students will work on Macintosh laptops. Children are welcome to bring digital cameras from home for photography-related classes, but please remember to include the cord, battery-charging system, and an empty memory chip. If you don’t have a digital camera, just let us know and we will provide one.

Changes and Cancellations
Dates and times are subject to change. The Wexner Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment without incurring obligations. If a class is canceled, you may transfer to another class or request a full tuition refund. If you withdraw from a summer workshop up to seven days before the event, you will receive a full refund less a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after that time.

(If you qualify for a refund, we will contact you directly to arrange it. Our contracted online registration system does not issue automatic refunds.)
