Art in Action brings teachers and their students, teaching artists, and the Wexner Center together to create art that effects change. Participating schools and teachers enter a year-long, project-based partnership that teaches educators how to connect contemporary art to the classroom curriculum and, through collaboration with local teaching artists, guides their students in working toward awareness of (and solutions for) global, national, or local issues through contemporary art–making practices.
Assistance and financial support for Art in Action schools can include, among other things, bus subsidies, special teaching support, and help with project supply purchases. Applications for the 2015–16 school year are due April 17. Please contact Tracie McCambridge at tmccambridge@wexarts.org or (614) 292-6982 with any questions.
