Fantastic Fabrics

In this workshop for children ages 6 to 12 and their families, we'll make batiks and decorative fabrics. Fabric plays an important role in our daily lives. The fabrics you choose for your furniture can help set the mood of your room--calm and cozy in pale pastels, or wild and crazy in zebra stripes and bright reds. After taking a look at the boldly patterned fabrics used in Franz West's furniture, we'll use dyes and paints to make batiks and decorative fabrics that say something about who we are.
