Working with Contemporary Art in the Classroom

wex grid image fill

In this workshop, you'll work with five gifted Columbus-area art educators to explore innovative ways to use the art of our time to inspire and motivate students.

Recommended for art and classroom teachers. After an introduction to Part Object Part Sculpture (code-named "POPS" by Wexner Center staff), you'll engage in critical discussion about five objects, facilitated by practicing art educators.

Then participating teachers will adjourn to the studio to enjoy a complimentary lunch and work with creative projects inspired by these objects. Participants will receive a CD with curriculum resource materials, including lesson plans and a PowerPoint presentation with script to show to students.

To register and reserve your lunch, please call 614 292-6493 or e-mail edweb@wexarts.org with your name, address, telephone number, school, and subject/grade level you teach. Please register by January 6.
