Explore methods of interpreting the media images that pervade our culture in this workshop for teachers. Investigate pop culture by examining the appropriated images of such American cultural icons as Marilyn Monroe, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa in this program for teachers presented in conjunction with Ohio Education Association/National Education Association Central Inservice Day (formerly COTA Day). You'll tour the exhibition Helio Oiticica: Quasi-cinemas and discuss the installations by this Brazilian artist, at 10 am or 11 am (choose one). At noon, Terry Barrett, OSU professor of art education, leads a workshop focusing on how to interpret the media images that pervade our lives.
