Art historian and photographer Joan Lebold Cohen explores how Chinese artists are confronting today's crucial issues, such as the effect of globalization on cultural identity. Cohen's book, The New Chinese Painting, 1949ñ1986, introduced recent generations of Chinese artists to the West. Following the lecture, you are invited to Hopkins Hall Gallery (128 North Oval Mall) for the opening of Chongqing Chilis: American Tour, an exhibition of contemporary prints and paintings spanning the past decade of Chinese art. Traveling from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in China, the exhibition is on view through Thursday, February 5. Presented by Hopkins Hall Gallery & Corridor. Cosponsored by the Wexner Center.
