Art and language arts teachers explore storytelling, cartoons, and illustration in this workshop related to the Splat Boom Pow! exhibition on view at The Belmont Building from January 31 to May 2, 2004. Inspired by works in the exhibition Splat Boom Pow! The Influence of Cartoons in Contemporary Art, this after-school workshop for art and language arts teachers offers the opportunity for participants to explore the graphic narrative form as a basis for integrated curriculum projects focusing on storytelling and illustration. Participants receive slides of works in the exhibition and gain experience in developing integrated lesson plan ideas using a thematic approach to the images. CEU/PDU credits is available.
