Cartoonist and author Scott McCloud explores the collision of art and technology as comics move onto the World Wide Web. In this lively visual presentation, you'll see colorful examples of work by the thousands of cartoonists that have been using technology to broaden their audiences and to reinvent their art form. Scott McCloud has been writing and drawing independent comic books since 1984. His book Understanding Comics (1993) is available in 15 languages worldwide. His most recent book, Reinventing Comics, explores the potential of comics in digital environments. McCloud has lectured at M.I.T., Pixar, Harvard University, Microsoft, and The Smithsonian Institution. Cosponsored by Ohio State's Cartoon Research Library.
